Biotec Filter Systems

Cloudy dirty water and strong algae growth are common problems in ponds. These problems are caused by floating particles due to an excessive supply of nutrients, dead plants, over fertilized soil, acid rain, fish excrement and left over food. These particles produce ammonia which is harmful to all living beings. Our unique Biotec Filter System transforms ammonia into nitrite using a natural process. The Nitrite (which is still harmful)  is then changed into harmless Nitrate. Nitrate actually constitutes a healthy nutrient conducive to plant growth.
Another unique feature of the Biotec Filter System is the easy handling and cleaning. An indicator automatically gives the degree of pollution and shows when the filtered bio-mass must be removed. The filter is cleaned by simply removing the inner dirt tank, rinsing it with clear water and reinserting it again. The filtered bio-mass is a very good organic fertilizer. The temperature indicator and the Biotec Plus-Zone, used for receiving efficient additives, are additional characteristics of this unique filter system. Please note: We advise you not to clean the tank and bio-cartridges too thoroughly so that enough bacteria can remain in the filter to continue the decomposition of nourishing substances. The efficiency of the Biotec Filter System can be easily increased by using a parallel connection of several tanks. If used properly, OASE gives a three year warranty (excluding filter pads ) on the Biotec Filter System.

Biotec 5

The Biotec 5 is a 2 chamber filtration system that provides both mechanical filtration and biological filtration. The separate chambers allow the active bacteria to thrive while consuming Ammonia and Nitrite in order to maintain a healthy pond eco-system. The Biotec 5 is specifically designed for easy cleaning and maintenance. The dirt indicator in the lid signals when it is time to service the filter. This filter is suitable for ponds up to 2000 gallons or Koi ponds up to 1000 gallons with a maximum flow through the filter of 1200 gallons per hour. Maximum pump flow rate is 1450 GPH. Recommended for use with the Oase Aquamax 1500 pump. The inlet is equipped with special hose adapters up to 1-1/2". Temperature and pollution indicators are included. The filter contains 2 blue (coarse) pads and 1 red (fine) pad. The Biotec 5 Filter Measures: 19.7" H x 15.7" W x 17.7" Diam.
